Everyone at British volleyball would like to wish our men’s sitting team the very best of luck as the head out to Rouen, France for the European B Championships. The event is a key milestone for the squad as they look to secure qualification to Paris 2024 Paralympics.
The team are flying out to Paris the event on the 12th December where classification will take place for a number of the squad before the event gets under way on the 15th. The squad will face some tough opposition including hosts France who they held a joint training camp with earlier in the year. Other teams include Slovenia who are ranked 10th in the latest ParaVolley Europe Rankings, Slovenia, Latvia, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic and Lithuania.
Team GB enter as the lowest ranked team, but the underdog tag suits this group of athletes who are ready as always to throw everything they have into this event. The squad has been affected by injury and illness but still has a good mix of experience and newer squad members.
